98.5 Sonshine FM is a listener-supported community station that relies on the ongoing generosity of its listeners to bring Perth a No Greed, No Ridicule, No Hurt radio alternative.

The government has designed community radio to rely on some listener support. It does not allow stations to be dependant solely on sponsorship and limits sponsorship income potential by placing strict restrictions on sponsorship content.

98.5 Sonshine FM believes being reliant on listener support and sponsorship income is perfect for Christian radio in Perth. Here are some reasons why:

• As a listener supported station 98.5 Sonshine FM will always value its listeners - our listeners provide a significant source of our income.
  
  
• As a community broadcaster we cannot change our focus. We are licensed as a Christian station. If we were a commercial station, nothing would prevent us from changing our direction if financial pressure was brought to bear.
  
  
• You won't be bombarded with too many advertisements, or sponsorship announcements, on 98.5 Sonshine FM. By law you will never hear more than 5 minutes per hour. Most commercial stations play over 12 minutes of ads every hour.
  
  
• Giving to 98.5 Sonshine FM makes many listeners feel involved. It's their way of sharing their partnership with us.
  
  
• A commercial licence in Perth is worth over $25 million but Sonshine FM was given its licence free of charge…that’s a $25 million head start for Christian broadcasting.

So when 98.5 Sonshine FM asks for your financial support it's not always because something is wrong. It’s simply that we rely on donations in order to remain on-air.

Given we are, and always will be, listener-supported, 98.5 Sonshine FM is introducing another way for you to partner with us which we hope will make showing your support even easier – One for One pledge partners.

As a One for One pledge partner you pledge a set amount to 98.5 Sonshine FM. We suggest a dollar a day, but you can pledge more or less depending on your circumstances. We will automatically deduct your pledge each month from your nominated account and at the end of each financial year send you a receipt for claiming on your tax return.

Paying your pledge in smaller monthly instalments means we are less of a burden on your finances. And the regular income enables us to budget more effectively.

Is my One for One pledge tax deductible?
Yes. All donations to Sonshine FM are tax deductible

Can I pay my pledge in one annual amount?
Sure. We don't mind, but to make things easier on your finances, we are happy to receive monthly instalments. If you still prefer to give in a single amount, you can still do that.

How can I pay my pledge?
You can pay using any credit card, your cheque or savings account via direct debit or by setting up a regular payment from your account to ours.

How will One for One pledge partner money be spent?
98.5 Sonshine FM will use your entire donation to ensure that Perth continues to be blessed with quality radio free of greed, ridicule & hurt. Sonshine FM does not pay commissions or other fees on fundraising income.

How do I sign up?
Please call us on 9276 8744 during office hours, go on line to our secure website 24 hours a day or simply tick the One for One pledge partner box, insert your monthly amount and return the slip in the reply paid envelope enclosed.

Can I amend or cancel my pledge if my circumstances change?
Absolutely. Simply contact us and we'll make the requested change immediately.
