In May 1999, after 10 years full time work at 98.5 Sonshine FM he left to join The Bible Society where he served as Bike for Bibles Coordinator for five years.

Rodney returned to 98.5 Sonshine FM in August 2004 to take up his current role as host of the morning programme. Rodney says he’s had a passion for radio for as long as he can remember. “I’m sure it’s a God given thing. When I was quite young I had my own ‘radio station’ set up underneath our house. I seem to remember that I used different accents and names so that I could be about 3 or 4 different announcers to cover all the shifts I need to cover.”

As well as having many years radio experience, Rodney has been involved as a consultant and writer on two television programmes which were screened on the Seven and Ten Networks.

The major priorities in Rodney’s life are his wife Pauline and two children, Emily and James.

Rodney is a keen cyclist who has crossed Australia 5 times by bike as well as cycling in Canada and making 2 trips to cycle in India. He also enjoys spending time online adding to his blog, The Journey, where you can stay up to date with Rodney’s views on life, faith and family.
